Dubai is world famous for shopping. Being a world transit centre, low taxes and a massive investment in shopping malls has led to one of the world's major shopping destinations. Shops open as early as 9 am and stay open to 11 pm. There are many shopping malls and each try's to outdo the other in design and promotions. In the malls prices are fixed but bargain in the souks.

Burjuman Centre

City Centre Mall

A very popular mall in Dubai with a variety of shops, cinema and two food courts. Good bargains in this mall. Located opposite Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club in Deira. Deira (295 1010).
Dubai Festival City
A city within a city is a mixed blend of shops, entertainment and residential areas. At the centre is the Festival Square which has regular entertainment.

The Dubai Mall is one of the largest in the world with over 1,200 shops. Inside the mall is the Aquarium and Discovery Centre and an ice rink.

Gold and Diamond Park
See how diamonds are cut and gold jewellery manufactured. There is a museum that explains how quality jewellery has been made in Dubai over the centuries. Interchange 4 on Sheikh Zayed Road (347 7788).
Ibn Battuta Mall
Designed into six areas to represent the traditional architecture of China , India , Persia , Egypt , Tunisia and Andalusia and very easy to walk around. Located at Emirates Hills. Sheikh Zayed Road. (04 362 1900).
Jumaira Plaza
A pink shopping mall serves the northern end of the Jumeirah Road. Jumeirah Road.
Mall of the Emirates
The largest shopping mall outside of North America with an indoor Ski Centre having the longest indoor slope in the world. Plenty of non shopping activities in this mall. Interchange 4, Sheikh Zayed Road. (04 341 4747)
Mercato Mall
Built in a Renaissance style with a large glass roof and resembles a themed Italian city with a large central Atrium and a number of small piazzas. Cinema, play areas and numerous shops Jumeirah Road. (04 344 4161).
Oasis Centre Mall
An attraction in this mall is Fun City and play area for kids. Sheikh Zayed Road. (344 1477)

A beach based two storey mall with shops and restaurants.
Reef Mall
In the middle of the commercial district and also has Fun City and entertainment Centre. Deira (04 224 2240).
Souk Madinat Jumeirah
Themed as a traditional souk with narrow alleyways and traditional architecture. Cafés and restaurants line the waterfront. Al Sufouh Road.
Wafi Mall
