Al Ahmadiya School and Heritage House
Dubai's first school established in 1912 now a museum. Next to the museum is a Heritage House with rustic interiors.Al Khor Street.

Bastakiya District
Home of many reconstructed buildings in Bur Dubai. A lot of the buildings have been converted into art galleries, shops and cafes. Common are the four sided windtower houses designed to provide natural air conditioning.
Bayt Al Wakeel Maritime Museum
Close to the water taxi station the museum tells the story of Dubai 's maritime history and culture. Abra Station, Dubai Creek.
Children's City
A place for kids with a toddler area, Discovery section; Science Section and other interactive activities for younger kids and teenagers. Located in Creek Park (334 0808).
Dubai Beaches
There are endless water-sport opportunities as Dubai has some of the whitest and sandiest beaches in the world. Ocean temperatures range from 22 in winter up to 35 degrees Celsius in summer.

Camel Racing
A traditional sport with races on Thursday and Friday from October until April. The track is at Nad Al Sheba.
Creekside Park
A park in the city centre with gardens, places to fish, jogging tracks, BBQ sites and a cable car. Located in the Oud Metha area of Dubai .

Dubai Desert Safari
Head out to the desert in a 4WD. The drivers will take you for a roller-coaster ride over sand dunes, show you the sunset from a strategic vantage point and finish with a traditional dinner with music and dance.
Dubai Creek
Dubai Creek has many dhows offering dinner cruises with on-board entertainment. Both sides of the creek have souks and corniches. A popular trip is to cross Dubai Creek by the small ferries. Dubai Creek originally served as a port for trading vessels plying to and from India , Africa and the Middle East . Today a bit of the old shipping culture still remains. In and around the creek one can see some of the original buildings that served as customs houses and defence structures.
Dubai Museum
The Dubai Museum is housed in the Al Fahid Fort built in 1787. The centre piece of the museum is a reconstructed Souq and provides a good history of Dubai . Located at Al Ibn Abi Tarib Road near Bastakiya in Bur Dubai. (353 1862).
Dubai Sports City
A major sports attraction that is being constructed to offer stadiums, golf and more.
Dubai Zoo
An outdoor zoo near to the beach. Located on Beach Road, Jumeirah.
Emirates Kart Centre
Karting for anyone over eight years old at the Emirates Kart Centre at Jebel Ali.
Gold Souq Deira
A very visual gold market with most of the gold being 22ct quality where the items are sold by weight with a "making charge" to cover the designs. Located at the mouth of Dubai the creek.
Gold and Diamond Park
See how diamonds are cut and gold jewellery manufactured. There is a museum that explains how quality jewellery has been made in Dubai over the centuries. Located at Interchange 4 on Sheikh Zayed Road (347 7788)
Grand Mosque
Opened n 1900 and rebuilt in traditional Islamic style with the tallest minaret in Dubai. Al Musall Road.
Hatta
An hour from Dubai is the fortress village of Hatta , with the Hatta Heritage Village with traditionally constructed houses. Close to Hatta are the Hatta Rock Pools with waterfalls and pools.
Heritage and Diving Village
A museum with weavers and potters showing how they have practised their traditions over centuries. Located at Al Shindagha.
Horse Racing
Horse racing is a major sport in Dubai and home to the Dubai World Cup held every march. Horse racing in Dubai takes place from November to April.
Jumeirah Beach Park
A shaded beach area with facilities that makes it a popular location. Located near Jumeirah Beach Club.
Jumeirah Mosque
A beautiful mosque that is open to non Muslims on Thursday and Sunday mornings for an organised tour at 10am. The mosque becomes a visual spectacle at night. Located on Jumeirah Road. (344 7755)
Luna Park
A fun fair with rides, ice rink and outdoor pool with a wave making machine. Located at Al Nasr Leisureland. Oud Metha (337 1234)
Mushrif Park
A desert park beyond the airport with areas of green lawns and pools. In the park is a miniature town. Located at Al Kawaneej Road past Dubai Airport.
Naif Museum
Naif Fort was the first headquarters of the Dubai Police. Located in Deira.
Ras Al Khor
Dubai's wildlife sanctuary with wild flamingos and many other species of bird.
Safa Park
Easily seen due to the large Ferris Wheel. Popular with kids due to the electronic games pavilion. At the centre of the park is an Arabic Garden . Located near Bin Sougat Centre.
Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House
Home of the former ruler until he died in 1958. Now open as a museum with a collection of photographs, documents and historical items. Dubai 's marine life is brought to life in the Marine Wing of Sheikh Saeed's House. Located at Al Shindagha. (393 7139)
Shindagha
The place where Dubai started out at the mouth of the Creek. In this area are the Heritage and Diving Villages and Sheikh Saeed's house.
Umm Al Sheif Majlis
The summer resort of the late Ruler of Dubai is open to the public and has traditional gardens and gives an insight into the development of Dubai.
Wadi Bashing
Explore the dry river beds of Dubai on one of the many tours. Best done in the winter months.
Wild Wadi
A large spectacular water amusement park with a number of rides and water surfing. Built around the adventures of Juha the mythical friend of Sinbad. Located in the heart of the city, next to Jumeriah Beach Hotel. (348 4444)
Wonderland Theme and Water Park
A small theme park for younger kids with rides and slides. Located near Creekside Park in the Oud Metha area (324 1222).
Zabeel Park
A technology based theme park laid out over 47 hectares. Zabeel Road.
